MEDQUEST 2010

An opportunity offerred by the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, MedQUEST is the summer program of choice for secondary school students interested in medicine, nursing and the multitude of exciting allied health professions. MedQUEST is a one-week, non-residential day program that is offerred in partnering communities during the month of July. Each program site may accommodate up to 30 students.

We're very pleased to be working with our community partners to offer MedQUEST in the following locations this summer. The communities participating, with program dates, are listed below:

  • CHATHAM ( Chatham-Kent ) - July 5 to July 9, 2010
  • INGERSOLL-TILLSONBURG ( Oxford ) - July 5 to July 9, 2010
  • SEAFORTH ( Huron-Perth ) - July 5 to July 9, 2010
  • SARNIA ( Sarnia-Lambton ) - July 12 to July 16, 2010
  • WALKERTON ( Bruce-Grey ) - July 12 to July 16, 2010
  • LEAMINGTON ( Essex ) - July 19 to 23, 2010

New in 2010 - Munsee Delaware First Nations Program - July 5th, 2010 to July 9th, 2010.



ELIGIBILITY

Only students currently in Grade 10 and 11 from high schools within the following regions are eligible for consideration:  Chatham-Kent, Essex, Grey, Bruce, Oxford, Middlesex, Lambton, Huron and Perth.

High school students from Middlesex county may be placed in one of the camps above, at the discretion of the partnering community.



NEW APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications for MedQUEST have gone paperless!!  Your on-line application will contain all the required component to apply for the MedQUEST opportunity.

The on-line application consists of the following components:
  • Student Application Component (your personal information).
    • This component may be completed on your own.
  • Student Reference Component (your recommendation from your guidance counsellor, principal or vice-principal, classroom teacher, or coach).
    • This component will be completed by the individual named in your application.
  • Student and Parental Consent Component (your understanding of the requirements).
    • This component will be completed by yourself and your parent/guardian.
  • Student Code of Conduct Component (your understanding of expectations)
    • This component will be completed by yourself and your parent/guardian.
  • Student Health & Immunization Component (your up-to-date health information, including 2-step TB skin test)
    • This component will be completed by yourself and your parent/guardian.

Please ensure you have the following information with you prior to commencing the on-line application process:

  • Valid personal email address
  • Valid parental email address
  • Valid student reference email address (email address of the individual from your school that will be supporting your MedQUEST application)
An account will be created for your information.  An email "blast" will be forwarded to your parent/guardian, as well as your secondary school reference, so they may connect to your application, and complete the required information on your behalf.
